Old Homosassa will soon have a community sponsored
Veteran's Memorial. It will be dedicated to those who have
shown a willingness to give their lives for the United States
of America. Words cannot express the gratitude owed to
them for the Freedoms we enjoy. We offer our interminable
appreciation for their service to our country and the
sacrifices they have made.

The existing monument, provided by the Rotary Club of
Homosassa Springs will be integrated into the new
monument. This monument is now located on Yulee drive in
Old Homosassa, opposite the Old Homosassa Elementary
School.

The new monument will be 6 ft in width by 6 ft 2 inches in
height, it will have (6) 8 inch medallions representing each
branch of the Armed Forces, this will include one for the
POW's. Above the medallions will be the inscription
"DEDICATED TO OUR HEROES ALL THAT SERVE" It is
our intent to place two granite benches in the area as soon
as possible. Granite markers will be placed at the base of
the monument for family and friends to honor those that
have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces.
The granite markers are 11 ¼ inch by 6 inch, a donation of
$100 is required for each marker which will include 25 free
letters. There are a total of 64 spaces are available on the
marker, additional letters will be $2 each.

APPRECIATED .In order to raise money for this monument
the Old Homosassa Veteran's Memorial Group and the
VFW Post #8189 are providing American flags for a
minimum donation of $20, and a drawing.
